The official trailer for the independent horror film Jimmy and Stiggs has been released, delivering an intense mix of fast-paced zombie-style action and neon-soaked alien terror. Produced, written, directed, and starring Joe Begos — known for his work on Bliss, American Veterans Association, and Christmas Bloody Christmas — this film made its debut at Beyond Fest 2024 and has since appeared at various genre festivals.
The film’s plot follows Jimmy Long (Joe Begos), an unemployed filmmaker spiraling into heavy drinking after a series of misfortunes. Convinced he was abducted by bizarre gray-skinned aliens with large eyes and sharp needles, Jimmy enlists his old friend Stiggs (Matt Mercer) to prepare for an impending alien showdown. As night falls, the two plunge into a chaotic hallucination fueled by aliens, drugs, alcohol, and relentless carnage, with vivid practical effects highlighting the neon-colored alien slime and bloody encounters.
Described by the filmmakers as “Alive meets The Walking Dead on fast forward,” Jimmy and Stiggs offers a frenetic, handcrafted horror experience perfect for late-night screenings with fans of wild and outrageous genre films. Produced by Begos, Josh Ethier, and Mercer, and presented by Eli Roth’s new label The Horror Section, the movie promises a unique blend of insanity and thrills.
Jimmy and Stiggs is scheduled for release on August 15, 2025, promising a wild ride for horror enthusiasts craving something fresh and explosively entertaining.
