The highly anticipated action thriller Stolen has released its official trailer, featuring Abhishek Banerjee in a gripping new role. The trailer opens with a tense scene at a crowded train station where a baby goes missing, and Banerjee’s character quickly becomes the prime suspect. Alongside his brother, played by Shubham Bansal, he becomes caught in a deadly chase filled with violence, betrayal, and emotional turmoil. The trailer culminates with a powerful image of Banerjee’s character beaten and bloodied.
Directed by Karan Tejpal, Stolen stars Mia Melzer as a tribal mother desperately searching for her kidnapped child, with Harish Khanna and Sahidur Rahman in significant roles. The film’s executive producers include renowned Indian filmmakers Anurag Kashyap, Kiran Rao, Nikkhil Advani, and Vikramaditya Motwane.
The official synopsis reveals that the story begins at dawn on a train platform, where Gotham comes to escort his brother Raman to a lavish wedding. Their plans are disrupted when they meet Jonpa, a frantic mother searching for her abducted infant. Raman insists on helping Jonpa, but Gotham is reluctant to get involved. A tragic case of mistaken identity thrusts the brothers into a dangerous, life-or-death pursuit.
Anurag Kashyap praised the film, saying, “Stolen is a powerful and emotionally sincere movie that grips you from the first frame. It boldly breaks conventions, embodying the fearless spirit cinema should have. I’m glad it’s available on Prime Video for audiences worldwide.”
Stolen premiered at the Venice Film Festival in 2023 to critical acclaim and was also shown at the Mumbai Film Festival (MAMI) and the 28th International Film Festival of Kerala. It will be available digitally on Prime Video starting June 5.
