Sony Pictures has released the official trailer for Caught Stealing, a new action-comedy crime film directed by Darren Aronofsky. The film stars Austin Butler as Hank Thompson, a former high school baseball star who can no longer play. What starts as a simple favor—cat-sitting for a punk-rock neighbor—quickly turns into a dangerous game of survival through the streets of New York City.
In the trailer, Hank finds himself unexpectedly caught in the middle of a criminal underworld after agreeing to watch the neighbor’s cat for a few days. Zoë Kravitz co-stars as his girlfriend, and their involvement soon drags them deeper into trouble. A tense line from Kravitz’s character, “You run away from what you’re afraid of. Then it owns you,” hints at the emotional and psychological stakes driving the story.
The screenplay was written by Charlie Huston and is based on his novel of the same name. The film blends action, comedy, and crime elements, promising an entertaining yet suspenseful experience. Alongside Butler and Kravitz, the cast includes notable actors such as Matt Smith, Regina King, Liev Schreiber, Vincent D’Onofrio, Griffin Dunne, music star Bad Bunny, and Carol Kane.
Caught Stealing is scheduled to hit theaters on August 29, 2025. With its mix of thrilling chase sequences, sharp dialogue, and strong performances, the film is shaping up to be a must-watch for fans of stylish action and crime comedies.
