Summer seems to always bring with it a wave of vampire-themed movies, and Bleeding is the latest to join the list. Arriving on Screambox next month, the vampire flick promises a dark, raw story that combines the allure of the supernatural with intense, personal struggles.
Written, directed, and produced by Andrew Bell, Bleeding follows the story of Eric, a 17-year-old boy still mourning the death of his brother. Eric’s cousin, Sean, the son of a troubled cop, gets pulled into a dangerous world of using and selling a mysterious substance called “Blood.” Desperate to save Sean from the same tragic fate his brother suffered, Eric is willing to do anything to pull him out of the grip of addiction and violence.
When Eric and Sean break into an abandoned house, they discover a girl locked inside. What seems like a potential solution to their financial troubles soon turns into an even greater danger, linking the two cousins to their pasts and testing their relationship in ways they never expected.
The trailer gives viewers a glimpse into the dark and gritty world Eric finds himself in, focusing more on the drugs and addiction angle than the vampires themselves—at least, at first. It raises an interesting question: which is more dangerous, an overdose or becoming a vampire?
Bell, who worked to bring this story to life, explained that the film addresses themes that are deeply personal and important to him. “This is a story and issue that’s important to me and our team. These experiences shaped who we are,” Bell shared. “We set out to make something raw, powerful, and honest. We wanted to tell a story about vampires, but show that the real monsters were there all along, preying on the young and feeding off the people who trusted them the most.”
Bleeding will be available on Screambox starting June 10. Check out the trailer below to get a sneak peek at this haunting film.
