Amazon Prime Video’s hit series The Summer I Turned Pretty returns for its third and final season on July 16, 2025. The newly released official trailer hints that Belly (played by Lola Tung) is getting married, while the long-standing love triangle with the Fisher brothers reaches a dramatic climax.
Set two years after Belly and Jeremiah (Gavin Casalegno) began their relationship, the new season reveals the couple’s engagement — news that surprises both families. However, Conrad (Christopher Briney), who moved to California, unexpectedly reenters Belly’s life, complicating her future.
The official synopsis states: “Belly looks forward to spending another summer with her soulmate Jeremiah in Cousins, but shocking events bring her first love Conrad back into the picture.” Now on the brink of adulthood, Belly finds herself at a crossroads, forced to decide which brother truly holds her heart.
The main cast returns, including Lola Tung as Belly, Christopher Briney as Conrad, Gavin Casalegno as Jeremiah, Sean Kaufman as Steven, and Rain Spencer as Taylor. The season also introduces new regulars Isabella Briggs and Kristen Connolly, among others. Notably, Kyra Sedgwick, who played Julia, confirmed she will not be returning for this final season.
Season 3 adapts Jenny Han’s third and final novel in the series, We’ll Always Have Summer. While the second season took some liberties with the source material, cast members have emphasized that this final installment will stay true to the original story and provide closure.
The trailer shows Belly and Jeremiah announcing their engagement to family, but the reunion with Conrad at his new California home disrupts their plans. Belly admits, “When I’m with J, everything’s easy — but no matter where I go, I keep thinking about Conrad.” The teaser ends with Belly walking down the aisle in a wedding dress, leaving viewers guessing who she says “I do” to.
Beyond Belly’s romantic journey, the trailer hints at the continued development of Taylor and Steven’s relationship, as well as a potential new romance between Belly’s mother and writer Cleveland Castillo (Alfredo Narciso).
This season consists of 11 episodes — three more than previous seasons. Filming took place in Wilmington, North Carolina, and Paris, France, with production progressing smoothly.
Given the trilogy’s source material, Season 3 will wrap up the story. Amazon executives have also suggested that a spin-off series may be in development, though details remain under wraps.
With its heartfelt portrayal of youth, love, and self-discovery, The Summer I Turned Pretty’s final season promises to deliver a satisfying conclusion to fans worldwide.
