The comedy film The Pickup, starring Pete Davidson and Eddie Murphy, has released its official trailer ahead of its premiere today. The movie follows the hilarious misadventures of two mismatched armored truck drivers caught up in an unexpected heist.
Produced by Tim Story, known for directing comedies such as Barbershop and Ride Along, The Pickup is set to debut on August 6 exclusively on Amazon Prime Video.
The trailer reveals that what begins as a routine cash pickup quickly spirals out of control when Russell (Eddie Murphy) and Travis (Pete Davidson) are ambushed by a ruthless gang led by the cunning Zoe (Keke Palmer). This unlikely duo finds themselves embroiled in a high-stakes robbery, turning an already bad day into a chaotic nightmare.
Alongside Murphy, Davidson, and Palmer, the film features a strong supporting cast including Eva Longoria, Marshawn Lynch, Joe “Roman Reigns” Anoa’i, Andrew Dice Clay, and Ismael Cruz Cordova. The screenplay is penned by Kevin Burrows and Matt Read.
In other news, Pete Davidson is set to appear in the upcoming horror thriller The Home, where he plays Max, a young man serving community service in a quiet nursing home harboring dark secrets. Directed and co-written by James DeMonaco, creator of The Purge series, The Home evokes the eerie suspense of 1970s horror classics and will be released on July 25.
