The excitement for Superman’s return continues to build as DC Studios and James Gunn officially announce that the full trailer for the upcoming Superman movie will be released this Wednesday. Alongside the trailer’s announcement, a stunning “motion poster” has been unveiled, showcasing David Corenswet as the iconic Man of Steel soaring through the skies.
The motion poster reveals Superman and his loyal dog Krypto standing vigilantly over Metropolis, offering a fresh glimpse of the city’s iconic skyline. In a dramatic moment, Superman takes flight, signaling the imminent arrival of the full trailer, which is expected to land at 9 AM PT / 12 PM ET (although an official time has yet to be confirmed).
This teaser follows a string of promotional releases, including a brief teaser trailer, a five-minute preview, and a featurette about the new Superman film. Fans are eagerly awaiting how much more of the story the full trailer will reveal, particularly as they hope to see visually epic moments that comic book readers have long dreamed of.
The summer box office is set for fierce competition, with blockbuster films like Jurassic World Rebirth, The Fantastic Four: First Steps, and The Smurfs all vying for attention. For Superman: The Man of Steel, it is crucial that this next trailer impresses both long-time fans and casual moviegoers alike.
In a statement teasing the tone of the reboot, James Gunn explained back in December, “I think we can expect a Superman who embodies the compassion of the human spirit. A Superman who is about kindness, love, and compassion while also being a very strong character. He represents the best of humanity, even though he is an alien from outer space.”
Fans can expect a Superman driven by a deep sense of compassion, as portrayed by David Corenswet in the dual role of Clark Kent and Superman. Other key cast members include Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane and Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor. The film will also feature performances by Edi Gathegi, Anthony Carrigan, Nathan Fillion, Isabela Merced, Skyler Gisondo, Wendell Pierce, Alan Tudyk, and many more.
Superman is scheduled to soar into theaters worldwide on July 11, 2025.
