First Look at ‘Jurassic World Rebirth’ Trailer

by Barbara

At CinemaCon on last Wednesday, Universal unveiled the thrilling new trailer for Jurassic World Rebirth, offering fans a sneak peek into the latest chapter of the blockbuster franchise. Featuring stars Scarlett Johansson, Mahershala Ali, and Jonathan Bailey, the reboot promises the kind of dino carnage that has made Jurassic World a multi-billion-dollar phenomenon.

The trailer introduces a high-stakes plot with daring sequences, including an attempted theft of quetzalcoatlus eggs that leads to a breathtaking aerial escape. Meanwhile, a mosasaur launch attack puts a group of researchers and armed guides at risk, only for an even greater threat to emerge in the form of a mutated dinosaur resembling a fire-breathing T-Rex. For those seeking lighter moments, a baby triceratops makes an appearance—until it’s thrown into panic by a menacing predator in need of a snack, forcing our heroes to confront the peril.

Johansson, a lifelong Jurassic fan, shared her excitement during the presentation. “It has been a lifelong dream to be in a ‘Jurassic’ movie,” she said. “For the last 15 years, I’d reach out and say I’m available here.” The actress humorously recounted how she once contacted director Gareth Edwards, joking, “She’s too expensive,” to which she replied, “I’ll play any role, even if I’m eaten in the first five minutes.”

Set five years after the events of Jurassic World Dominion (2022), Jurassic World Rebirth explores a world where dinosaurs struggle to survive due to drastic environmental changes. A group of scientists embarks on a covert mission to extract valuable DNA from the island’s remaining dinosaurs to develop a life-saving drug—though the threat of deadly velociraptors and other dangers looms large.

Directed by Gareth Edwards, known for his work on Godzilla and Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, the film is scripted by David Koepp, who penned the original Jurassic Park (1993) and its sequel The Lost World (1997). The ensemble cast also includes Rupert Friend, Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, Luna Blaise, David Iacono, and Ed Skrein.

Jurassic World Rebirth is set for release on July 2, 2025. In addition to the new trailer, Universal presented footage from upcoming films Wicked: For Good, Five Nights at Freddy’s 2, and M3GAN 2.0 during its CinemaCon presentation.
