The Adriatic Film and Television Awards, established at the Cannes Film Festival to honor the most significant achievements in film and television from the former Yugoslav countries, will hold their inaugural ceremony from October 24 to 26 in Porto Montenegro, Tivat, Montenegro. Tivat is also a key partner for the event.
Winners will be selected by the Adriatic Film and Television Academy, currently under formation and affiliated with the Adriatic Film Festival Network. This network is a collaboration among the Sarajevo, Zagreb, and Belgrade film festivals.
The new awards continue the legacy of the Sarajevo Film Festival’s “Heart of Sarajevo” TV series prize, which will be discontinued. The expanded awards will cover a broader range of film achievements.
The academy will include over 500 film and television professionals from the region, many of whom have served as jurors for the “Heart of Sarajevo” awards. Voting will begin in June 2025, with nominees announced during the 31st Sarajevo Film Festival in August.
The awards ceremony aims to bring together top regional talent, offering a platform for exchange, experience sharing, and international promotion of Adriatic film and television. Porto Montenegro, a waterfront residential and studio complex equipped with recording and filming facilities, will serve as the event’s venue.
