At the 2025 BAFTA Television Awards ceremony, the BBC emerged as the dominant broadcaster, winning 18 out of 27 categories, more than any other network or streaming service. The awards covered a range of categories, including factual, drama, entertainment, comedy, children’s programming, daytime, news, soap operas, sport, short form, and live events, demonstrating the BBC’s excellence across various genres.
BBC drama Loverman took home two major awards, with Lennie James winning Best Actor and Ariyon Bakare winning Best Supporting Actor. In the entertainment category, Strictly Come Dancing‘s iconic waltz by Chris McCausland and Dianne Buswell won the public vote for the “Unforgettable Moment” award.
Charlotte Moore, BBC’s outgoing Chief Content Officer, expressed her pride in the BBC’s accomplishments, stating, “I am incredibly proud that BAFTA has awarded the BBC 18 prizes across such a broad range of categories, showcasing the excellence of our programmes in multiple genres.
