Saban Films has released the official trailer for the upcoming crime thriller Desert Dawn, directed by Marty Murray. Set to hit VOD on May 16, 2025, the film centers on a newly appointed sheriff and his deputy as they become embroiled in a web of corruption and lies after the murder of a woman uncovers a dangerous conspiracy involving businessmen and the cartel.
Starring Kellan Lutz as Sheriff Luke Easton and Cam Gigandet as his reluctant deputy, the film’s plot follows the two lawmen as they attempt to navigate a treacherous landscape of deceit and danger. Despite the formulaic setup, the film features a strong cast, including Niko Foster, Guillermo Ivan, Chad Michael Collins, and others.
Marty Murray, a seasoned stuntman and filmmaker, directs the film, bringing his experience from working on popular TV series such as Chicago Fire and Chicago P.D.. Although Desert Dawn follows a familiar crime thriller formula, the high-octane stunts and action scenes may offer an engaging watch for fans of the genre.
While the movie’s premise may feel all too familiar, Desert Dawn promises to deliver thrilling action sequences and a gripping narrative. The trailer showcases intense moments, but whether the film can stand out in a saturated genre remains to be seen.
