Zaijian Jaranilla: From Child Star to Leading Man in ‘High Street’

Over a decade has passed since Zaijian Jaranilla’s acting debut in the Kapamilya series “May Bukas Pa.” The once wide-eyed little boy has matured into a fine young man, now captivating audiences in the thriller teen drama “High Street.” In the series, Zaijian plays Tim, an LGBT character who is half of the popular TimPoch tandem, showcasing his signature charm and depth.

Zaijian Godsick Lara Jaranilla, known to fans as Z, Zai, or Zaij, and affectionately as Pogi, was born on August 23, 2001. At 22 years old, he proudly identifies with his Virgo zodiac sign, known for its intelligence and professionalism, as well as a readiness to help friends in need.


With a favorite color of black, Zaijian has a refined palate, enjoying Japanese cuisine and sinigang na hipon. His musical tastes include the classic “Something” by The Beatles, and he recalls his first fanboy moment attending a Dua Lipa concert alone.


For relaxation and adventure, Zaijian’s top vacation spot is Marinduque, a place he enthusiastically recommends for its breathtaking beauty. Beyond acting, he enjoys watching movies and playing video games. His personal motto, “Don’t tell lies about me and I won’t tell truths about you,” reflects his straightforward approach to life.


Sharing a previously untold story, Zaijian recalled his first audition at the tender age of four or five. Accompanied by his grandmother, who worked at an obstetrics and gynecology clinic, he auditioned for a milk commercial in Makati and successfully launched his career as a commercial model.

Zaijian’s first friend in showbiz is Xyriel Manabat, whom he met during their early days in workshops and modeling gigs. Xyriel also named Zaijian as her first industry friend when she filled out the Celebrity Slambook. His first showbiz role model was Dominic Ochoa, with whom he worked on “May Bukas Pa,” where Zaijian played Santino, a saintly boy raised by priests, including Dominic’s character, Father Jose.

Currently, Zaijian stars in “High Street,” airing weeknights on the Kapamilya Channel, Kapamilya Online Live, TV5, and A2Z. As he continues to grow and evolve in his career, Zaijian remains a beloved figure in the entertainment industry, captivating audiences with every role he takes on.
