Mark Ruffalo stars as an FBI agent investigating a series of violent robberies in HBO’s new drama series “The Mission.” Directed by Brad Ingelsby, the creator of “Mare of Easttown,” the story delves into the working-class life in the suburbs of Philadelphia. Ruffalo’s character leads a crucial task force formed to tackle these crimes. The cast also includes Tom Pelphrey, Emilia Jones, Jamie McShane, Sam Keeney, Tosin Morohunfola, Fabian Frankel, and Allison Oliver.
Brad Ingelsby’s previous acclaimed work, “Mare of Easttown,” starred Kate Winslet and Julianne Nicholson and earned an Emmy Award. “The Mission” is directed and executive produced by Jeremiah Zagar and Sally Richardson-Whitfield. Other executive producers include Mark Ruffalo, Mark Roybal, Paul Lee, David Crockett, and Ron Schmidt, with Mark Roybal and Paul Lee serving as executive producers for Wiip. Nicole Jordan-Webb and Jeremy Yaches are co-executive producers at Public Record.

In other programming news, a new reality show titled “Return to the Frontier” will premiere on July 10 on Magnolia Network and Max. The show challenges three American families to live like 19th-century farmers, without electricity or running water, across eight episodes. Executive produced by Chip and Joanna Gaines, the series aims to engage both parents and children by presenting a bold social experiment.
Additionally, Gordon Ramsay’s production company Studio Ramsay Global is set to launch an eight-episode documentary series titled “Blade: Chasing Michelin Stars” on Apple TV+. Filmed in Los Angeles, Mexico City, and London, the series explores the lives and ambitions of elite chefs striving to earn or maintain Michelin stars. Ramsay emphasizes the intense dedication and sacrifice behind achieving such recognition. Ramsay, Lisa Edwards, and Morgan Roberts serve as executive producers, with the release date yet to be announced.
In executive news, Howard Swartz has been appointed CEO of Pioneer Productions and will begin work at the company’s London headquarters. Swartz plans to expand Pioneer’s factual content across various formats, targeting younger audiences. He brings experience from Warner Bros. Discovery, where he oversaw “Shark Week” and several Emmy-nominated documentary series. Swartz joined Stephen David Entertainment as EVP of production and development before moving to Pioneer.
Also, the auction reality show “Storage Wars” returns with more episodes and events, premiering on June 7 at 9 p.m. ET/PT. Buyers will compete to win the best storage lockers in this ten-episode season. Returning cast members include Brandi Passante, Dave Hester, Kenny Crossley, Ivy Calvin and his sons, Rene and Casey Nezhoda, Lisa Delarios, and Dusty Riach. Finally, Bloomberg’s business and sports podcast “The Deal” returns for its third season, featuring guests such as Mellody Hobson, Susie Wolff, and Josh Harris. Hosted by Alex Rodriguez and Jason Kelly, the podcast interviews industry leaders and champions to provide insights into business and sports deals. New episodes air Wednesdays at 6 p.m. on Bloomberg Television, 8 p.m. on Bloomberg Originals, and are available on all podcast platforms Thursdays.
