ITV has announced that My Mum Your Dad, the dating reality show hosted by Davina McCall, will not be returning for a third season in 2025 due to scheduling conflicts.
The show, which follows single parents as they attempt to find love with the help of their adult children, gained significant attention and popularity during its first two seasons. However, ITV has decided to push back the planned third season, originally scheduled for filming this spring, until 2026. This delay is attributed to a shortage of eligible single fathers for the upcoming season.
An ITV spokesperson confirmed the decision, stating: “My Mum Your Dad achieved a fantastic audience response across its two series, and the show’s boxsets continue to perform well on ITVX. There are currently no plans for a new series in 2025 due to other scheduling priorities, but we may revisit the show beyond that.”
Despite the cancellation, My Mum Your Dad has seen success in fostering genuine relationships, with one couple from the 2024 season, Vicky Davies and David McLeod, confirming that they are still together months after filming wrapped. The couple shared an update over the Christmas period, with Vicky posting a photo of herself with David’s granddaughter on Instagram.
Vicky also posted about taking a break from the couple’s busy life, sharing, “Giving @david_dee_mcleod a little break as he’s cooked, entertained and been non-stop with the DIY. Plus, I get to do all the fun things I can’t do with mine anymore. Off to Dublin with my beautiful daughters this weekend to celebrate my beautiful daughters’ birthday.”
The first two seasons of My Mum Your Dad are currently available for streaming on ITVX.
