Brussels-based sales agent Be For Films has secured the international sales rights for Love Me Tender, the second feature film from director Anna Cazenave Cambet, starring Vicky Krieps. The film is set to premiere at the prestigious Un Certain Regard section of the 2025 Cannes Film Festival.
Based on the novel by Constance Debré, Love Me Tender tells the story of Clémence (played by Krieps), a woman whose life takes a drastic turn when her ex-husband files for sole custody of their son after she admits to having relationships with women. The film follows Clémence’s emotional and legal journey as she struggles to defend her right to be both a mother and a woman with the freedom to make her own choices.
The film’s cast includes Antoine Reinartz, Monia Chokri, Vigo Ferrera-Redier, Aurélia Petit, Ji-min Park, and Salif Cissé. The crew includes cinematographer Kristy Baboul, composer Maxence Dussere, editor Joris Laquittant, sound designer Marlette Mathieu-Goudier, casting director Youna de Peretti, and costume designer Vanessa Deutsch.
Produced by Novoprod Cinéma, Love Me Tender is co-produced by France 2 Cinéma and Viktoria Films. The project also received financing from France TV, Canal+, Ciné+, OCS, and several regional organizations.
Cazenave Cambet, who graduated with honors from La Fémis film school in 2017, previously directed Gold for Dogs, which was selected for the Cannes Critics’ Week in 2020. Her debut film was released in French theaters in June 2021.
Pamela Leu, sales agent at Be For Films, expressed excitement about the collaboration, saying, “Working with Anna Cazenave Cambet has been a long-held goal since discovering Gold for Dogs at Cannes. This new project reflects a strong creative partnership with producers Raphaëlle Delauche and Nicolas Sanfaute, and we are thrilled to continue this journey together.”
